The Third Way: Living Jesus' Countercultural Way of Life

In a world that demands you pick a side, Jesus offers a different way.

You feel it, don't you? The pressure to choose. Progressive or conservative, us or them, fight or flight. Every conversation seems to carry the weight of landing on the "right" position, the safe response, the answer that won't cost you too much.

Many Christians have settled into one of two camps: adapting to culture until they lose their distinctiveness, or resisting culture until they become irrelevant to the very people God calls us to reach. Neither reflects Jesus, who was "full of grace and truth" (John 1:14).

There is a third way. It is not a compromise between the two. It is the way of Jesus himself, and it has been available to his followers since the first century.

The Invitation

The Third Way is a six-week journey built on the Apostle John's three-part paradigm for following Jesus in a hostile culture: walk in the light, love without fear, and hold fast to the truth. Where these three converge, you find Jesus, and in him, life and complete joy.

Each week includes a foundational article, a formative practice, daily C.L.R.® journal readings, a weekly reflection, and a group discussion guide. It is designed to be walked through with others, because you need them, and they need you.
